The suspect was taken into custody on 8/4/23 and it is believed that this incident is not connected to the shooting incident that took place on West 19 th and Brown Street. It was learned that the suspect (a 16-year-old male) was believed to have discharged the firearm and that he had fled the scene prior to officer’s arrival. SAPD’s Criminal Investigations and Crime Scene Division were requested on scene to assist. The SAFD transported the female to Shannon Medical Center where she was later pronounced as deceased. Officers arrived on scene and located an unconscious 17-year-old female who had an apparent gunshot wound on her back. The San Angelo Police Department was dispatched to a residence in the 1300blk of Paisano Place in reference to a shooting victim. San Angelo, TX (August 3, 2023, 8:13pm): A 17-year-old female is deceased after a shooting that took place yesterday evening at a residence in the Northeast side of San Angelo. Chegwidden at 32 and reference Case# 2023-0009628. Officers quickly converged on the area and were able to locate a silver BMW near the intersection of N. Both victims were transported to Shannon Medical Center via the SAFD for treatment. Officers learned that one of the occupants of the silver Kia (16-year-old female) had a gunshot wound to her arm while another (18-year-old male) had wounds believed to have been caused by shrapnel.

The driver of the silver Kia then fled on foot into the surrounding area and the silver BMW was observed fleeing North on Brown Street. The Silver Kia was struck multiple times by gunfire and then entered into the intersection where it collided with a black Dodge Ram pickup. Officers learned that the occupants of a silver BMW began shooting at a Silver Kia that was stopped at a stop sign near the intersection of West 19 th and Brown. The San Angelo Police Department was called to the area around West 19 th and Brown Street in reference to a shooting victim. Two suspects were taken into custody and were charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. The two victims had non-life-threatening injuries and received treatment at Shannon Medical Center.
